UPDATE
Cox Communications says it is making progress on restoring email to its customers. Crews have isolate the problem, and are planning to send all incoming emails to customers on a rolling basis - once the problem is fixed.
Unfortunately, Cox does not expect service to be restored Sunday. However Cox does not believe any personal or secure information has been compromised.

Cox Communications is experiencing a global outage keeping customers from accessing their email.
Officials did not say when the problem first began, but that it was not specific to the Roanoke region, and that it was a "global" outage.
We are told that no personal, or secure informaton is believed to be compromised.?
A prompt on the company's answering system says they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it.
