When The Rock captured the WWE Title from CM Punk at Royal Rumble, he didn?t just end the longest WWE Championship reign in the modern era. The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment also reclaimed the square circle?s most prestigious title for the first time in more than 10 years ? after losing it to The Undertaker back in 2002.
It was a moment of renewed excellence for The People?s Champion as he once again hosted the coveted prize high above his head. Take a look back, as WWE.com examines eight other returns to championship glory that were a longtime coming.
