We've had a whole host of announcements coming out of Japan Expo, and the latest is that Nintendo has revealed a new Pokemon for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
The new Pokemon is called Honedge and will be a ghost-type Pokemon. He was revealed by Junichi Masuda on Friday during Japan Expo 2013, which is being held in Paris. Masuda is a director at Game Freak, the developers currently working on Pokemon X and Y.
Honedge is a rather odd Pokemon, in that it's a possessed sword. This means that it's also a steel type, as well as being a ghost type. It can use the blue cloth as an arm and it can drain the energy from other beings. Its normal-type move is Swords Dance. It's described as a "frenetic dance that uplifts the fighting spirit and sharply raises the user's Attack stat". This is great news, as it can be used multiple times to try and boost up your Pokemon's stats.
Even though Honedge has just been announced, there have already been concerns relating to its design. Many believe that it's a bit odd, but given the back story it's to be expected. The sword became possessed by a departed spirit.
Last week, Nintendo showed off an additional form for Mewtwo, one of the franchise's more popular Pokemon. He's appearing in a new animated movie in Japan.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are due to release on the 12th of October around the world. It's being released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS.
