WASHINGTON TWP. ? An unidentified woman who owned a house trailer along Pleasantview Drive that caught fire late Wednesday night escaped unharmed, but the blaze destroyed her home.

Washington Township Fire Chief Dan Black said the woman, who lived alone, was cooking and fell asleep.

Something on the stove ignited the fire, Black said, which broke out around 11:15 p.m.

Black did not immediately know the victim?s name.

He said officials believe that she did not have fire insurance on the trailer, at 512 Pleasantview Drive, which she owned.

Her dog died, apparently when it ran back into the trailer.

A host of area fire companies joined the Washington Township Fire Department in battling blaze, which utilized tanker trucks to get water to the scene.
